CURRICULUM
The curriculum at Concordia Lutheran School is similar to that taught in California public schools. Our faculty is in the ongoing process of aligning our curriculum with the California State Standards as published by the California State Board of Education. In addition to reading, math, language arts, science, social studies, art, music, and physical education, Concordia’s curriculum also includes instruction in Lutheran Christian doctrine and biblical history.

SCHOOL HOURS
Classes are in session from 8:30am to 2:45pm (kindergarten) and 3:15pm (gr.1-6). Students are expected to be in their classrooms by 8:25am and are counted as tardy if not seated at their desk at 8:30am.

EXTENDED DAY CARE
Concordia Lutheran School offers extended-day child care (‘King’s Club’) for enrolled students from 6:30 AM until school begins at 8:30 AM and from 2:45 PM (kindergarten dismissal) or 3:15 PM (grades 1-8 dismissal) until 6:00 PM. King’s Club provides a safe, structured atmosphere for students on campus before and after school at a reasonable cost (see fee schedule in the enrollment information section).

PARENT-TEACHER LEAGUE
All parents with children enrolled at Concordia Lutheran School are eligible to be members of the Parent-Teacher League (PTL). The PTL meets monthly to plan school-wide activities and fundraisers, all in the interest of enriching the educational environment and making Concordia the best it can possibly be.

SCHOOL BOARD
Concordia’s School Board meets monthly and offers an “Open Forum” at which parents and students may meet with the board members and share questions or concerns they may have regarding any facet of Concordia’s programs. Board meeting dates and times are published in the weekly school newsletter, the Newsflash.

SUMMER DAY CAMP
Concordia operates a summer day camp known as “King’s Camp” from late June through mid-to-late August. The program usually runs for a total of eight weeks and includes academic enrichment, arts and crafts, field trips, and well-supervised child care. For more information, contact the school office.
